My 30mins With Lito...

May 25, 2006...

Venue : Power Plant Mall

Didn't feel like going home right away. Went to check out Power Plant Mall on the conditions of the billiard tables. It's been a while since I last went there. Turns out a portion of the billiard hall is closed off for renovation. Found a quiet corner with an unoccupied table. Got my cues out of the bag and started racking up...

It didn't take long for me to pause and think about what has just transpired before I got here. I instinctively called up Lito to see if he’s nearby. True enough, he was just downstairs having dinner with some friends but could afford sneak out for a couple of minutes to have a beer with me. It was an ominous sign to why I felt like tracing my steps here after all. It didn’t take long for me and Lito to meet up. We had the opportunity to make up for lost time while playing a game of billiards. We’ve been busy in our respective careers which had to be given some priority at the expense of some playing time. Both of us were hopeful that things will turn around and more time to “play with little soldiers” in the near future.

More nuggets of wisdom from the man once we sat down for a couple of beers. His views on certain things made me think twice if a similar situation was placed before me. Suffice it to say that the man knows what’s going on as well as most knowledgeable on the most diplomatic course of action.

Time flew and it was time for him to return to meet up with his friends again. Thanks again sir for taking the time out! :D

There was still time for me to pass by Fully Booked and get me something to read. Couldn’t find a complete set of the Legends trilogy and ended up buying an abridged version of S. Morgenstern’s The Princess Bride. Hopefully this will mark the start of the reconstruction of my library.

i agree with you on that one gecko boy. Dragonlance was at its finest hour during the Legends trilogy. that's minimum reading requirement for dragonlance must reads. the rest would all be supplementary reads. Heroes- and Preludes sextets(?) are perfect examples of such.

yeah, that's dragonlance's first attempt at politically correct sex between heroes. =P

i have a guilty preference to characters that are evil yet would be cool heroes if given the proper casting, like kit, lord soth, raistlin and his dark elf apprentice, darth maul, the sith from the animated series, and the likes.

Am I the only D&D player on earth who never got to read the dragonlance saga? lolz. Anyway my only fave from that world was transferred to ravenloft. hehe... Lord Soth and his mighty finger of death trick. lolz. He points, you die. :D

Garr: What do you mean by earthly and yet fantastic? I can hardly remember what elmore's art looked like. Was he the one who mixed realism techniques for fantasy illustrations?

Hihirit muna ang isang Raistlin fan:

I recognized Elmore because of Dragonlance. Maganda mga lineart nya AND his colored works.

I liked Sturm and the whole Knights of Solamnia gig. But when an evil wizard who you took as an adventuring companion starts walking down the path of godhood and succeeds? And when said wizard got burnt by dragonbreath and lives, and gets nice golden skin, white hair and hourglass for pupils that can see into the future? Well that's just too many good stuff to let up compared to the uptight knight who died heroically (but still died nonetheless).

Everyone dies, true. But Sturm died too early. I would've liked it if he was still in Spring Dawning.

dont forget his dark elf apprentice, his accomplishment of travelling back in time, assume the identity of the most feared black wizard in all of Krynn, and take on the gods themselves and win! :D
