Helping Out...

In that same jobsite somewhere in Makati...

Lots of things make me stay overnight at the office. Here's a few.

Got to work on my backlog in paperwork. Chipped away quite a considerable chunk, but the mountain of documents keep getting higher...

Got to do more work on my test fig as well, just to break the boredom of work on OT (Over Tawad. +P). I'm starting to like how my chosen color scheme is coming together. Can't wait to finish it on next spare time I can get.

One of our staff was sorta broken hearted, and accompanying him and becoming and impromptu guidance counselor has hopefully helped him somewhat. We did a little surfing, a sharing of each other's music, while having a beer and chocolate milk. Believe me, the chocolate milk drinker was more drunk. +P Some quotables that night:

"If I want to look back at how I lived my life, the last thing I'd want to say is there's the one that got away..."

"Waiting for a sign is one thing, doing nothing is another..."
Hope things work out for you man. If it becomes the fairy tale ending you've always wanted, I'll send you the bill. ;)

Quite ironic that for a guy who sometimes doesn't practice what he preaches, I would be asked for advice. He seems ok now and I guess its safe for me to call it a night and get some sleep for the day ahead, with the songs still playing in my head. Its a Mad World out there...

bataisip21: yeah. im toying with the idea to color code one squad with white trim, another squad with another scheme/color combination but keep all the models cohesive somewhat...
Ian Navarro: Your gold needs more definition IMHO.
bataisip21: ah. ok. havent really gone to the inkwashing of those yet. noted.
Ian Navarro: And there's some flash on the sides of the horns. You might wanna scrape that off with an exacto. It shows on the closeup shots eh.
Ian Navarro: For the gold, try painting on brass first, then gold, then chestnut ink wash, the pick out raised parts with more gold; then highlight hehe
bataisip21: i actually thought i was able to remove those. the painting of the white made it more obvious i guess. that's good! ano pa?
Ian Navarro: slaanesh is all about prettiness
bataisip21: yeah. the uneven molding between pieces sucks too. and some of the details were lost maybe because the mold was already worn out.
Ian Navarro: the white trim needs a little cleanup on the sides, a thin stroke of black should fix it, unless you made it that way
bataisip21: hey, i would appreciate you putting the comments on the blog pa rin, for posterity that is.
Ian Navarro: the left horn looks cleaned naman from the 084.jpg angle
Ian Navarro: sure thing man
bataisip21: the white needs a gray undercoat methinks. the white tends to be sucked up by the black primer as it dries...
Ian Navarro: nah, multiple layers of white will do.
Ian Navarro: for the pipes/tubing, go boltgun metal, drybrush chainmail, black ink wash to seep the recesses, then drybrush chainmail, then drybrush mithril
Ian Navarro: the lines on it are painted in neat, which is a good thing in my eyes
Ian Navarro: i also see a hint of highlight on the right leg. niiice
Ian Navarro: as for the black areas, which are a lot; thin strokes of shadow grey will help bring out the details
Ian Navarro: OR take the daya way, with varnish. i did that with my kodiak hehe
bataisip21: accidental highlighting...
bataisip21: the left leg i had to highlight the studs but need to clean it up.

bataisip21: would you know plastic models of soldiers smaller than 25mm scale? keywords are plastic, cheap, smaller than 25mm scale.
bataisip21: i need the heads actually...
Ian Navarro: best to ask pork
Ian Navarro: or have ryan sculpt them for you
bataisip21: yeah, i kinda figured that. thanks.
Ian Navarro: no problem

just keep the painting thing going. there's no such thing as a fully painted army anyway. you will be adding figs from time to time. :D
